About the Program

The Business and Industry Technology Program is an in-classroom program designed to meet the needs of business, industry, and government agencies for individuals possessing knowledge and skills in the areas of desktop computing, computer systems repair, networking, wireless technology, and project management.

Prerequisites: HS Diploma/GED/TASK

Graduates will be qualified for the following positions:

  • Manager, Business Office Technologies

  • Administrative Support Technician

  • Computer Support Specialist

  • Computer Systems Administrator

Duration: 17 Weeks

Classes meet 20 hours per week – 4 hours daily, Monday through Friday

Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
Prerequisite: None
40 Hours

This course is designed to give project managers and project team members a solid understanding about the nature of projects, how they are structured, and how the structures affect the way they are managed.

Microsoft Office 365
Prerequisite: None
40 Hours

Students will be taught the major features, from basic to advanced, of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 365.

A+ 220-1001
Prerequisite: None
40 Hours

Students learn how PC components work in unison. They learn hardware troubleshooting techniques. They also learn how to maintain operating systems, networks as well as security.

A+ 220-1002
Prerequisite: None
40 Hours

Students are taught about computer hardware components and about how to install, use, and manage Windows operating systems; and, to configure and troubleshoot peripherals, computers, and printers. They are also instructed in security and network fundamentals, operational procedures, and preventative maintenance.

Business Continuity & Digital Transformation
Prerequisite: None
40 Hours

The student will learn about business continuity planning and business strategies in the post-pandemic economy. This course also covers the Agile methodologies, offers an introduction to big data and data visualization, teaches virtual collaboration and remote work challenges as well as social media marketing.

Network+
Prerequisite: A+ 220-1001
40 Hours

Students will review the basic system architecture, installation, and management; understand commands, devices, and file systems; utilize shells, scripting, and data management techniques; and navigate user interfaces, desktops, and essential system services.

Cloud+
Prerequisite: Network+
40 Hours

This course demonstrates that an individual knows what cloud computing means from a business and technical perspective, as well as what is involved in moving to and governing the cloud.

Six Sigma Green Belt
Prerequisite: None
40 Hours

Six Sigma Green Belt uses a rigorous and systematic methodology known as DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, and control) and a number of qualitative and quantitative tools. Its goal is to drive process, product, and service improvements for reducing variation and defects.
